I seem to remember Powers set across from me in Mrs Turners 5th grade class and my memory tells me Pam Cole set right next to him, I remember them always being a couple, I remember he was a QB on our football team at Travis Jr High till he got hurt as a freshman and was forced to stop playing. He was a standout in high school in UIL competitions at one act plays and always the lead at the local productions and I remember him in The Commons at SWTSU sitting at the corner table with the Kizer Bros with the other Lamba Chi's, I always followed his career and was proud to of known him, rest in peace brother! To the Boothe family; So sorry for your loss. This man was a great American actor. One of the fans' favorites. I lived in Lubbock when I was in the USAF and flew over Snyder many times. Wish I could have known Powers personally. My favorite role he ever played was the part of the Louisianna National Guardsman from Texas in "Southern Comfort" which is one of the best movies I have ever seen. RIP Powers. My Dad owned the farm across the road from Powers in Snyder. Went to the school together, "Go Snyder Tigers!" Lots of good memories with him. Was proud of his success. So shocked when my Son called this AM to tell me of his passing. Strength to Pam and the children in this hard time. My dad would say every time he saw him .."He and I have the same birthday".

I can hear the sound of his voice in my head, he had such a distinctive sound. And what a great actor he was. I am so sorry for the whole family for losing a husband and father. I lost my husband a year ago... so, I can sympathize with you on your feelings.. It's hard. He seem like a great man. My heartfelt sympathy.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of one of my favorite actors. He was great in everything he did. I will always remember the great job he did as Curley Bill in Tombstone. Our thoughts are with Powers and his family. My God Bless! Larry Willis

I will always remember Mr. Boothe for his great role playing along side Kurt Russell in, "Tombstone" one of my favorite movies. His one liner, "Bye" as the Earp family heads out of town was priceless. RIP but you left us way to soon. May God grant peace and comfort to your family during this difficult time.

Powers Boothe, a character actor on screens large and small, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles, according to multiple news sources. He was 68.
